The attempts to replace the
leather storage box by one of imitation leather did not lead to the desired
results.
The material was too instable and not suffiecently water-repellent.
The imitation leather boxes were only produced in a small quantity and then
replaced by the sheet metal storage boxes.
In the inside of the storage box a stamp was applied which noted the manufacturer and the production year.
That it is a storage box of imitation leather you can see on the two short steels what goes up in front.
I only know photos which show this storage box on the BMW R75.
